This is a cheap and easy side salad. when i say salad i dont mean that useless head of lettuce you can get for 99cents, i mean vegetables.
- one cup of raw broccoli floweretts (that 3lb bag from Sams is $3.86 and lasts us a week)
- one tomato, chopped (.39 a pound)
- fistfull of raw carrots (this bag is $1.00)
- dressing of choice. remember to read the label, should be 1-2 carbs per serving.. should not be the "fat free" or "low fat" type
Optional ingredients: shredded cheese, cauliflower, chopped onions, sliced hard boiled eggs, chopped bacon. If you use Caesar dressing, adding Parmesan cheese makes it just like the restaurants.
you can also eat as a main meal by heating up a half cup of the Spicy Chicken Recipe and mixing it all together. Its just too easy. I will usually eat a bowl like this and then have whatever meat recipe i have going after that.
